It’s True – Everything is Bigger and Better in Texas!

Wow…we just returned home on Saturday from a week in Arlington, Texas at our 46th annual convention
and these are just a few words and phrases that come to mind to describe it: awesome, huge, incredible high, energy so positive we didn’t want it to end, friendly, fun, and so much education packed into 4 days it lit your hair on fire (well, it was Texas, after all…)

But, these are just words. You really had to be there to understand it. There were old familiar faces, young and new faces, some faces of members who went away and came back and many who never left and always come back. The lecture hall was packed for every lecture and applause was loud and sustained. The contest floor practically levitated  through the roof, the energy was so high. Demos were dynamite. The MarketPlace didn’t merely hum with activity, it sang. And through it all the amazing volunteers from our host chapter, Texas Professional Farriers Association, kept things moving and were there to lend a hand at a moment’s notice – as were all of the dozens of AFA members and their spouses who came from far and wide to work to make this one of the best conventions ever.

If there was an award for “Best Spirit at a Convention” all of those who gathered in Arlington last week for ours just won it hands down. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
