We at the AFA are dedicated to providing horse owners, potential members, and current members with up-to-date information of events across the United States and the World.

If there is an event that you would like listed on our calendar, click here or on the link below. Your request will be evaluated and listed on the calendar if determined to be appropriate by AFA web administrators. Sole discretion on event listing is with the AFA.

Continuing Education - Effective February 22, 2006, the AFA Board of Directors rescinded the plan to require persons with AFA Certification to obtain 24 hours of Continuing Education every two years.

The Board has approved a plan where educational opportunities for farriers will be eligible for AFA Continuing Education hours. Hours are designated on the AFA Calendar of Events. Sign-In Forms will be made available at all approved events. Completed Sign-In Forms must be submitted to the AFA office for recording of the hours on the AFA database. AFA members will be able to track their hours on the "Members Only Section" of the AFA website. This is a completely voluntary program. There is no requirement to participate.

Clinicians/Judges/Demonstrators will receive 1.5 times the number of allocated hours for their service.

Persons with the most number of hours in a calendar year will be recognized at the AFA's Annual Convention. Questions can be sent to the AFA- farriers@AmericanFarriers.org or by calling the AFA office at 859-233-7411.
